SODA Graphix

SODA 5.2 Released!

The new version posted today is a major update with many new modeling and editing features (click on titles to open slides):

New modeling features

A new form that makes creation of rotational and translational models a breeze!

New modeling form with Move, Rotate, Mirror and Multiple Action groups
Move the selected items along any axis or custom defined direction
Rotate the selection around any axis or existing member
Mirror the selection about any major plane or a selected face
Multiple Action lets you combine the defined Move and Rotate actions and repeat them for any number of steps.

New editing tools

Added Edit Nodes and Edit Members menu items - dialogs allowing allow you to edit properties of multiple nodes and members, repectively, even properties that are different for the selected nodes or members.
Added Edit Groups menu item that allows you to edit properties for multiple groups
The right-click menu in the viewports was improved and added to the Structure form as well

Graphics elements

Graphics elements:

Improved visibility on member and node name tags
The members end-fixity conditions (fixed, pinned etc) are now displayed using distinct graphics symbols

Labels property in Nodes and Members settings Graphics form allow you to change the colour and font for the name tags

Graphics engine:

Improved undo/redo and paste/delete speed
Improved engine speed in loading and manipulating large structures
Faster automatic frame generation
Improved status dialog now displays the progress during all major operations: copy, move, merge, undo/redo, loading workspace - with detailed status messages
